Introduction
I would like to start by introducing what
everyday memory is and its functions. EDM is incidental learning, knowledge that
is formed as we experience life. It is important to understand firstly that EDM
research differs a lot from traditional research which is intentional. This
research focuses on the content of information recalled and not on the amount.
It is also stemmed from goals and interest unlike traditional research which is
often driven by experiments.
To show more of an understanding of EDM,
there are more specific areas such as Autobiographical Memory (AB) which concerns
itself with experiences that an individual has formed and has a crucial
significance to them. AB is more of a recollective experience from what the
individual has retained which consist of memories.
Previous everyday memory studies describe
findings that can be applied to society.
